The Group's principal activity is to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity. It distributes to residential, commercial and industrial customers in northeastern North America. The Group generates electricity through coal-fired, natural gas and oil, hydro and wind sources with a generating capacity of 2,293 megawatts. As of 31-Dec-2008, the Group served approximately 482,000 customers in the province of Nova Scotia, as well as 117,000 customers in eastern Maine.
