The Group's principal activity is to invest in companies and projects. It also includes manufacturing and trading of products in the FMCG sector, transportation, development of real estate, investing in bonds, funds and equity securities. It operates in five segments: Property: it develops real estate projects for rentals and sale of developed property units. Manufacturing and contracting: it manufactures and markets materials used in building construction projects, produces and markets crude edible oil, pharmaceuticals, aluminum extruded products and laboratory furniture. FMCG: it produces and distributes dairy products. Investments: it provides services in start up ventures and IPO's, bonds, funds and shares held for trading purposes. Transportation: it provides tanker for the transportation of crudeoil. The Group operates in the United Arab Emirates and other GCC countries. In 2008, the Group acquired Global Pharma.
