| The Group's principal activity is to involve in manufacturing and contracting. It also does manufacturing and trading of products in the FMCG sector, transportation, and development of real estate, investing in bonds, funds and equity securities. It operates under four segments. Manufacturing and Contracting, Property, FMCG and Investments. Under Manufacturing and contracting, it manufactures and markets materials used in building construction projects, produces and markets crude edible oil, pharmaceuticals, aluminum extruded products and laboratory furniture. Under Property, it develops real estate projects for rentals and sale of developed property units. Under FMCG, it produces and distributes dairy products. Under Investments, it provides services in start up ventures and IPO's, bonds, funds and shares held for trading purposes. It operates in the United Arab Emirates and other GCC countries. In 2007, the Group acquired Thermostone and White Aluminum. |
