The Group's principal activity is to manufacture and market pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates and finished dosage forms and biologics products globally. It operates in three segments: Pharmaceutical Services and Active Ingredients (PSAI), Global Generics and Proprietary Products. PSAI segment includes active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediaries, also known as active pharmaceutical products or bulk drugs, which are the principal ingredients for finished pharmaceutical products. Global Generics segment consists of finished pharmaceutical products ready for consumption by the patient, marketed under a brand name (branded formulations) or as generic finished dosages with therapeutic equivalence to branded formulations (generics). Proprietary Products segment involves the discovery of new chemical entities for subsequent commercialization and out-licensing.
