The Group's principal activity is that of a retail general merchandise store. It offers consumable basic merchandise including health and beauty aids, packaged food products, home cleaning supplies, housewares, stationery, seasonal goods, basic clothing and domestics. As on 02-Mar-2007, the Group operated 8,260 stores, including 56 Dollar General Markets in 35 states. The Group operates throughout the United States.
