The Group's principal activities are operating self-service stores, joint associations to operate members-only stores and a chain of restaurants. Its self-service stores sell a wide variety of food items, including basic groceries and perishables, and non-food items, which include general merchandise and clothing. At 31-December-2008, the Group had 230 stores and 77 restaurants including Mega, Comercial Mexicana, Bodega, Sumesa, Alprecio, City Market, Costco and Restaurantes California, among others.
