| The Group's principal activity is to manufacture tires, plastic products and other industrial rubber products. The Group operates through four divisions: Continental Automotive System, Passenger and Light Truck Tires, ContiTech and Commercial Vehicle tires. The Continental Automotive System manufactures electronic and hydraulic break system, adaptive cruise control systems, air suspension and sensor systems. The Passenger and Light Truck Tires segment manufactures tires for passenger and the two wheeler vehicles. The ContiTech segment produces rubber-based industrial products such as elastomer coatings, air springs, conveyor belts, drive belts, hoses and extrusions. The Commercial Vehicle Tires segment manufactures tires for trucks, industrial and agricultural vehicles. The Group operates in Europe, NAFTA, South America, Asia and Africa. In the year 2008, the Group acquired Tikka OY Finland, Tikka OOO Rusisa and Otomotiv Lastikeleri Tevzi A.S Turkey. |
