| The Group's principal activities are to design, develop, manufacture and market machine vision systems that are used to automate a range of manufacturing processes. It operates through two segments: Modular Vision Systems Division and Surface Inspection Systems Division. The Modular Vision Systems segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets modular vision systems that are used to control the manufacturing of discrete items. These items include semiconductor chips, cellular phones and light bulbs. The Surface Inspection Systems segment develops, manufactures and market surface inspection vision systems that are used to inspect surfaces of materials processed in a continuous fashion, such as metals, paper, non-wovens, plastics, and glass. It operates in the United States, Japan, Europe and Ireland. |
