The Group's principal activity is to explore and produce minerals with a portfolio of businesses across central and southern Africa. It operates in two main business segments: Minerals exploration and production and Logistics. The Group's other operations are mainly, that of early stage businesses and corporate management. The Group's operations are located in the United Kingdom, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mali, Namibia, Burkina Faso, Kenya and Ireland. The Group's minerals division is located in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ireland. The logistics division is based in South Africa and Zimbabwe. On 04-Sep-2009, the Group acquired a 74% interest in Southern Palace Investments 398 (Proprietary) Limited (Southern Palace) and 51% of the shares in SA Fluorite (Proprietary) Limited (SA Fluorite). On 12-Aug-2008, the Group disposed of its interest in Procana Limitada.
