| The Group's principal activity is to operate a chain of food retail outlets. The Group distributes food supplies through hypermarkets, supermarkets, discount stores and mini markets. The Group offers a range of products such as sauces, vinegar, olive oil, spices, frozen vegetables and meat, vine and animal food. As on 31-Mar-2007, the Group operated 346 hypermarkets, 2339 supermarkets and 716 discount stores. The Group operates mainly in France, Latin America and Asia. In 2006, the Group acquired Costa Verde, Vulaines Distribution, Alwenna Restauration Traiteur, Point Confort SA and Odyssee Restauration Traiteur. |
