| The Group's principal activities are to develop and distribute hyperimmune products and recombinant biopharmaceuticals. Hyperimmune products are specialty antibody preparations made from plasma products. Recombinant protein products are therapeutic proteins made by introducing a particular gene into a host organism, which in turn produces the protein of interest. The Group operates in two segments namely Contract R&D and Manufacturing and Biopharmaceutical Operations. Biopharmaceutical Operations include in-house licensed product sales and royalties and related party research and development. Contract R&D and Manufacturing provides products and services to third party clients. The Group develops and supplies antibody products that may aid in the fight against challenging infectious diseases such as smallpox, Ebola, anthrax, West Nile and hepatitis. The Group markets its products in Canada, the United States and other foreign countries. |
