| The Group's principal activities are to operate 12 plants specialized in the design and fabrication of construction products and solutions. The products and solutions are marketed by eight business units in the commercial, industrial, institutional, multi-unit residential, and bridge and highway infrastructure markets. It supplies products for the construction of buildings and bridges for the non-residential and infrastructure construction sectors in Canada and the U.S. The Group designs and manufactures steel construction components and provides related services. The products include joists, roof trusses, beams, columns, steel deck and cold-formed sections. It also designs and manufactures heavy structural steel used for bridges and other construction projects. On 30-May-2007, the Group acquired 49% interest in United Steel Structures Limited. |
