The Group's principal activities are the provision of rail transportation and deliver products to customers. The products include petroleum and chemicals, metals and minerals, forest products, coal, grain and fertilizers, intermodal and automotive. The Group's railroad crosses the continent east-west and north-south, serving ports on the Atlantic, Pacific and the Gulf of Mexico. The operations of the Group are carried out in Canada and the United States. On 31-Jan-2009 the Group acquired the principal lines of the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway Company (EJ&E).
