Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles SA (CAF) is a Spain-based company engaged in the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for railway systems. The Company’s range of products includes high speed vehicles, locomotives, trains for the provision of medium distance services, commuter trains and electric motorcars, subway trains, streetcars and light rail trains, among others. In addition, the Company offers technical assistance, maintenance and management services. The Company’s facilities comprise eight main production centers located in Beasain, Zaragoza, Irun, Elmira, Linares, Castejon, Lerida and Bagneres-de-Bigorre, as well as a network of assembly and maintenance plants established in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and the United Kingdom. As of December 31, 2011, Cartera Social SA was the Company’s major shareholder with 29.56% of its interest.
