| The Group's principal activity is operating pay television broadcast in the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as broadband and telephony services. It acquires and commission programming to broadcast on its own channels and supplies certain of those channels to cable operators for retransmission by the cable operators to their subscribers. It retails channels, both its own and third parties, to Direct-to-Home (DTH) subscribers and to a limited number of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) subscribers. It also makes three of its channels available through the United Kingdom free-to-air Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) platform under the brand Freeview. Sky channels include Sky Movies Premiere, Sky Movies Comedy, Sky Movies Action, Sky Movies Family, Sky Movies Drama, Sky Movies SciFi and Horror, Sky Movies Classics, Sky Movies Modern Greats, Sky Movies Indie, Sky Movies Screen 1, Sky Movies Screen 2, Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports Xtra. |
