| The Group's principal activity is to provide enterprise software applications and related services to the education industry. The product line consists of five software applications bundled in two suites, the Blackboard Academic SuiteTM and the Blackboard Commerce SuiteTM. The applications that make up the Blackboard Academic Suite are: the Blackboard Learning SystemTM; the Blackboard Community SystemTM; the Blackboard Content SystemTM. The applications that make up the Blackboard Commerce Suite are: the Blackboard Transaction SystemTM; the Blackboard Community System; Blackboard OneTM. The customers of the Group include colleges, universities, school, other educational providers, textbook publishers and student-focused merchants. On 31-Dec- 2007 the Group acquired more than 4,800 licenses of five software application. On 31-Dec-2007, it acquired Xythos Software Inc. |
