Thomson Financial Business Description:
| The Group's principal activity is that of an Investment Trust. The objective of the Group is to maximise total returns to shareholders through a world-wide portfolio of mining and metal securities. The Group is an Investment Company and can take advantage of Section 265 of the Companies Act 1985 (which allows an investment company to disregard losses on the capital account when paying dividends out of revenue account). The Group has been approved by the Inland Revenue as an Investment Trust for the purposes of Section 842 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for the year ended 31-Dec-2006. Investment management services are provided by Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Ltd for a fee calculated at the rate of 1.25% per annum of gross assets. The agreement is terminable at six months' notice. |
