| The Group's principal activity is that of a real estate investment trust. The Group acquires, owns, leases, manages and selectively develops laboratory and office space for lease to life science tenants, including biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, scientific research institutions, government agencies and other entities involved in the life science industry. At 31-Dec-2007, the Group owned or had interests in 67 properties located in San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York. The Group has elected to be taxed as a Real Estate Investment Trust under sections 856 through 860 of Internal Revenue Code, as amended. |
