Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG (BOB) is engaged in the operation of passenger and freight rail services in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland. The Company operates a mountain railway between Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, as well as a mountain railway between Wilderswil and Zweiluetschinen. In addition, it operates a rack and pinion railway from Wilderswil to Schynige Platte. It also manages a mountain hotel in the Schynige area and provides bus services. BOB is majority owned by the Swiss Federation and the Canton of Berne. It is managed by Jungfraubahnen Management AG. The Company conducts its business activities in alliance with Jungfraubahn Holding AG and its subsidiaries. Within the framework assigned to it by the authorities, namely providing a public service to various localities in the Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau region, the railway receives payment from public funds. Its services are used by tourists, group and individual travelers, and for the transfer of goods.
