The Group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and market systems, which consist of instruments, chemistries, software and supplies for biomedical laboratory needs. Its products are used in a range of applications, from instruments used for pioneering medical research, clinical research and drug discovery to diagnostic systems found in hospitals and physicians' offices to aid in patient care. It is one of the company devoted solely to biomedical testing. It operates in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia and it markets its products in approximately 130 countries. The Group acquired NexGen Diagnostics, LLC in November and Dako Colorado in December 2007
