The Group's principal activity is the production, transmission and distribution of electricity throughout Switzerland mainly using hydroelectric power. The Group also produces energy using wind power plants. In addition it has a stake in nuclear power stations. The Group produces CO2-free power from its seven hydroelectricity plants and the nuclear power plant in Muehleberg near Berne, from hydroelectricity plants owned by 16 partner companies and via purchase rights in partner nuclear power plants.
