| The Group's principal activities are operating a chain of discount stores, marketing and selling food products and other consumer goods. The Group carries a limited assortment of approximately 600 products, mainly private label brands; spot products, available periodically; exclusive products which are branded items at sizes specifically designed for the Group, and branded products that are readily available in the market. It serves customers from all income levels and operated 2,330 stores as of March 12, 2009, in more than 60 provinces across Turkey. The stores receive their supplies from 23 regional warehouses, with distribution centers located in several locations, including Istanbul, Antalya, Adana, Aydin, Trakya, Bursa, Izmir, Sakarya, Ankara, Samsun, Kayseri, Trabzon, Konya, Erzurum, Balikesir, Corum, Gebze and Sanliurfa. It has a Morocco-based subsidiary, Bim Stores SARL. |
