The Group's principal activities are the development, manufacture and marketing of air and gas compressors, air dryers, after coolers and related products and provision of equipment rentals. The Group operates in three segments. Compressor Technique manufactures oil free and portable air compressors, turbo expanders, electrical power generators and air treatment equipment. Construction and Mining Technique manufactures rock drilling tools, tunnelling and mining equipment, surface drilling equipment, construction tools, loading equipment and geo-technical drilling equipment. Industrial Techniques segment manufactures industrial power tools, assembly systems and electric power tools for the automotive and aerospace industries. The Group operates globally. During 2008, the Group completed 6 acquisitions. The Group opened factories in China & New Zealand .
