| The Group's principal activity is the provision of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance. The Group also conducts insurance advisory and other businesses through there subsidiaries. The Group operates under two segments: Reinsurance and Insurance. The reinsurance segment primary focus is to write significant portions of business on a select number of specialty property and casualty treaties. This includes property catastrophe reinsurance, other property business, casualty, other specialty business, marine, aviation and space, casualty clash and non-traditional business. The insurance segment consists of the Group's insurance underwriting subsidiaries, which primarily write on a direct basis. The insurance segment consists of eight profit centers, including property, casualty, Construction and Surety, executive assurance, healthcare, professional liability insurance, program business and other. |
