| The Group's principal activity is purchasing, producing, distributing and selling water and electricity. It operates through three business units: water and electric distribution units, through its GSWC subsidiary; water-service utility operation conducted through its CCWC unit and contracted services unit through the ASUS subsidiary. The activities of GSWC and CCWC are located within California and in the state of Arizona respectively. The activities of ASUS are located in California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Maryland and Virginia. As of 31-Dec-2006, it served 253,970 water customers and 23,248 electric customers and operated 29 miles of overhead 34.5 kv transmission lines, 1 mile of underground 34.5 kv transmission lines, 175 miles of 4.16 kv or 2.4 kv distribution lines, 53 miles of underground cable, 14 sub-stations and a natural gas-fueled 8.4 MW peaking generation facility . |
