| The Group's principal activity is that of a parent company of Philip Morris USA, John Middleton and Philip Morris Capital Corporation. It owns 100% of the outstanding stock of Philip Morris USA, John Middleton and Philip Morris Capital Corporation. Philip Morris USA is a tobacco company in the United States, with approximately half of the US cigarette market. Marlboro is the focus brand for Philip Morris USA. Other brands include Basic, L&M, Parliament and Virginia Slims. John Middleton is a manufacturer of machine-made large cigars. Major brands include: Black and Mild, Prince Albert, Carter Hall, Middleton's and Kentucky Club. Philip Morris Capital Corporation actively manages a portfolio consisting of leveraged and direct finance leases investments. In addition, the Group holds a 28.6% economic and voting interest in SABMiller plc. On 28-Mar-2008, the Group completed the spin off of 100% of the shares of Philip Morris International. |
