| The Group's principal activities are to develop, manufacture and market pharmaceutical products for humans and animals. For the year ended 31-Dec-2007, its operations were carried out in three business segments namely, Pharmaceuticals, which markets branded pharmaceutical prescription products, including pain medication products sold under the trademark KADIAN, and a NSAID patch product sold under the trademark FLECTOR; Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, which develops, manufactures and markets a line of fermentation-based active pharmaceutical ingredients and one chemically synthesized active pharmaceutical ingredient used by third parties in the manufacture of finished dose pharmaceutical products; and Animal Health, which develops, registers, manufactures and markets medicated feed additives and water soluble therapeutics for poultry, cattle and swine. In 01-Apr-2008, the Group completed the sale of its Active Pharmaceuticals Ingredients business. |
