The Group's principal activity is to supply, produce and process and market coal. It produces two types of coal such as steam and metallurgical coal. The coal mines are located in the Central Appalachian, Northern Appalachian regions and in Colorado. It has 34 active underground mines and 27 active surface mines and 11 preparation plants located throughout Virginia, West Virginia, kentucky and Pennylvania. It also provides equipment sales and repair operations, trucking services, coal analysis services and leasing of mineral rights.
