| The Group's principal activities are to manufacture and market diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceuticals in specialty areas such as ophthalmology, rheumatology, anesthesia and antidotes. The activities are carried out through three business segments: Ophthalmic, Injectable and Contract services. The Ophthalmic segment markets diagnostic and therapeutic ophthalmic pharmaceutical products. The Injectable segment markets specialty injectable pharmaceutical products, including antidotes, anesthesia, and products used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and pain management. The Contract services segment manufacture products for third party pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers based on their specifications. The Group's customers include physicians, optometrists, hospitals, wholesalers, group purchasing organizations and other pharmaceutical companies. It operates only in the United States. |
