Thomson Financial Business Description:
| The Group's principal activities are to operate in six Segments: Merchant Gases, Tonnage Gases, Electronics and Performance Materials, Equipment and Energy, Healthcare and Chemicals. Merchant Gases sells industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen and argon. Tonnage Gases Segment distributes hydrogen, carbon monoxide, nitrogen and oxygen to the petroleum refining and metallurgical industries. Electronics and Performance Materials Segment provides material solutions through chemical synthesis, analytical technology, process engineering and surface science. Equipment and Energy Segment designs and manufactures cryogenic and gas processing equipment for air separation. Healthcare Segment provides respiratory therapies, home medical equipment and infusion services. Chemicals Segment includes its polymer emulsions business. On 30-April-2007, it acquired 98.1% of the Polish industrial gas business of BOC Gazy Sp z oo from the Linde Group. |
