The Group's principal activities are the production and distribution of all industrial and healthcare gases and the provision of related services. The Group operates in five segments: Industrial, Electronics, Healthcare, Large industries and Related activities. For the industrial sector, the Group supplies gas supplements to automobiles, metal manufacturing units, food industry and research industries. The electronic sector utilizes the Group's product for the manufacturing of semiconductors, flat screens and high-definition TVs and computers. Healthcare sector uses the gases for therapeutic and Life support systems and for medical hygiene products. Large industries manufacture chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Related activities include the supply of gases for space technology and cryogenic systems including engineering, welding and diving. The Group operates in Europe, Asia Pacific, the United States and Africa. In 2007, the Group acquired Lurgi.
