The Group's principal activity is providing airline services primarily in the eastern United States. As of February 2, 2009, the Group operated 86 Boeing B717-200 aircraft (B717) and 50 Boeing B737-700 aircraft (B737) offering approximately 700 scheduled flights per day to 56 locations in the United States (including San Juan, Puerto Rico). All of the flight operations of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (the Company, AirTran, or Holdings) are conducted by its wholly-owned subsidiary, AirTran Airways, Inc. (AirTran Airways or Airways). The schedules are designed to provide service and connections for the business and leisure travelers and to facilitate connections for the passengers traveling through Atlanta. The Group offers a range of fares based on advance purchases of fourteen days, seven days, three days and walk-up fares.
