The Group's principal activity is exploring, developing, operating and holding interests in the mining and minerals industry. The Group's operational focus is on precious and ferrous metals which include mainly platinum group metals, nickel, iron ore, manganese and chrome. The Group produces, for local and international markets, manganese and iron ores from its mines in the Northern Cape and chromite ore from its mine at Dwarsrivier, Mpumalanga. The Group also operates Modikwa Platinum Mine which is situated on the eastern limb of the Bushveld Igneous Complex in the Steelpoort area of the Mpumalanga Province. The Group also operates the Nkomati Nickel Mine which is located east of Johannesburg in the Machadodorp area of the Mpumalanga Province.
