| The Group's principal activity is the provision of insurance and related financial services. The Group operates through five divisions: Life Insurance provides life insurance products with an emphasis on investment, pensions and savings products. Non Life Insurance (Claims) provides insurance services for the automobile, domestic and commercial property sectors, as well as for transport, general liability and construction sectors. Asset Management and International Insurance segments provide services for asset management, investment banking, securities trading, brokerage, real estate and other financial activities. The banking sector provides banking facilities in France, Belgium and Germany. The Group operates in France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. In 2008, the Group acquired Seguros ING and SBJ. |
