The high profile reception problems of the iPhone 4 bumped comments on Apple Inc. (AAPL) back to the top of Alacra Pulse’s top ten most-quoted analysts this week, after an unusual absence last week,
Bernstein’s Antonio Sacconaghi knocked Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray off the top perch he has occupied for the last three weeks, while Shaw Wu of Kaufman Bros and Rodman & Renshaw’s Ashok Kumar also featured with comments on Apple. Meyer Shields of Stifel Nicolaus was the only other returning analyst from last week, with comments on Berkshire Hathaway’s (BRK.A) agreement to take on the asbestos liabilities from CNA Financial (CNA) for $2 billion.
Newcomers included John Murphy of Bank of America Merrill Lynch on the demise of Chrysler’s PT Cruiser, FBR’s Craig Berger and Gleacher’s Doug Freedman on Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Citi’s Mark Mahaney and Sandeep Aggarwal of Caris and Co on Google (GOOG).
