Alacra Pulse Pressure Points: Downgrades and Strikes
A raft of analyst downgrades put a number of well-known companies under pressure last week, including Monsanto (MON), TiVo (TIVO), Canadian Solar (CSIQ), Dreamworks Animation SKG (DWA), Genzyme (GENZ) and Kraft Foods (KFT). Kraft also came under fire for its closing of Cadbury’s Somerdale plant in the post-merger reorganization, while Genzyme continued to seek buyers for non-core businesses as part of its ongoing reorganization.
QiniteQ Group (QQ) and AbitibiBowater (ABWTQ) outlined financial restructurings, Honda Motor was forced to temporarily close four plants in China because of a strike at a parts supplier, and British Airways (BAY) continued to suffer from repeated cabin crew strikes.
The following sampling of companies under duress was compiled from a search of traditional and alternative media outlets using Alacra Pulse.
